German-Danish Project »Across the border«
Forum for vocational training and qualification of the Kreishandwerkerschaft Ostholstein/Plön/Lübeck and CELF – Center for Erhvervsrettede uddannesler Lolland-Falster (Denmark)
»Come on girls – get technical – across the border!«
Young women are still clearly underrepresented in craft, technical and scientific fields. The aim is to show schoolgirls the range of career opportunities in these fields and to awaken their interest in them, as well as to promote the willingness of companies to employ female workers. Through our coaching and a variety of offers, young women receive new impulses for their career choice and future perspectives. A cross-border project of the district craft associations of Ostholstein, Plön and Lübeck and CELF in Denmark.
Tasks: Development and implementation of an exchange seminar between German and Danish young women. More information: http://www.girls-get-technical.de/

Learn more about and from other young women living in the Fehmarnbelt area – across the border. You and other young women from Denmark and Germany will talk about the worlds you all live in and discuss your life concepts with one another. Maybe you already know that you can use your opportunities across borders in order to learn and practice a »male-dominated« profession. This exchange project is designed to give you an idea of first steps into this direction.
At a two-day seminar in autumn 2010, you will thematise the different worlds you live in and your ideas about life concepts. You will likewise discuss the other culture, but also address the idea of learning and practicing a »male-dominated« profession. You will understand the opportunities that are offered to you through a cooperation across borders and you will become curious about the respective other country with its own opportunities. Furthermore, you have the chance to remain in contact with one another.
The group
You are one of 16 young women from the Fehmarnbelt Region who are interested in handicraft, technical and natural science professions and are willing to participate in this seminar. The seminar is held in English.
Preparation
A restricted Facebook group will serve to familiarise the participants with each other and to already address questions of the seminar. Trainers from both countries will also participate.
