In Zimbabwe, I worked with opposition groups, focusing on the question of how effective political communication can be developed from within the opposition (and in the face of multiple threats from the regime). The meetings with very different groups, representatives of farm workers, church groups, farmers« associations and others were impressive. In my report on the work of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the framework conditions become clear: Zimbabwe: Silent work for democracy and justice.
Besides the workshops, I was shown local projects with which socially committed farmers help their employees to become more independent from farm work (mostly for large European corporations).
